it helps you to see what are your most frequently used words -- but not in a way that makes you feel bad about yourself, simply in a beautiful artistic word cloud. this is also a good way to help catch students' "crutch phrases" -- it points them out to students in an easy to grasp manner, since the frequency with which the words are used is reflected in how big the world is.
more importantly, especially for students who are visual learners, this can be a way for them to see their essay in (literally) a new light, and help shed light on the words being used.
